Graziano Gardens ~ Waupaca
Graziano Gardens has been our client since 2015. Bright, colorful and featuring a lot of pictures; was the foundation of the original Graziano Gardens website.
The Project Brief
During our initial consultation with Graziano Gardens in 2015 we discussed making some changes to their existing website. While Shelly loved the look of the the website, it was outdated and not mobile responsive. We retained the look of the original site, updated the information and made it mobile responsive.
The website we updated for Graziano Gardens underwent many revisions and additions as Shelly added new services and products to her business. In late 2018, Shelly and Nerd Free Marketing had a consultation to discuss a complete refresh to integrate a functional calendar to allow customers to RSVP to their events as well as a shopping cart for their line of daylilies.
With the re-design, we started from scratch with a fresh new design which would focus on high resolution images, eliminate old information, and present a scaled down version of the information included in the website.
It was decided to create the main focus of the website around their daylilies and events. Many of the events repeat year after year so we wanted to ensure the events could easily be recycled with new information so they didn't need to be re-created on the website each year. As the date of an event passes, it disappears from the events page to keep it fresh for new website visitors. Shelly wanted a simplified process for the shopping cart and preferred the catalog style cart over a full-featured cart with an integrated payment gateway. It was important to make the shopping cart accessible from every page so we implemented a cart icon in the lower left corner which was quite visible and easy to use.
The new website was launched in early May 2019 and is being monitored for results. Within the first week of launch, Shelly contacted us to rave about how easy it was for her customers to sign up for events. The first week of the launch, she saw events that were almost completely booked right away.
Website visitors have increased by 25%, bounce rates have decreased by 3%, and the amount of time spent on the website has increased by 60%. We expect these numbers to continue rising and as soon as her busy season passes, Shelly said she has a lot to say about the new design and the process we worked through in its creation.
